Hey everyone :)
So yesterday afternoon I went out to shoot a beautiful church for an assignment. I was really excited about this shoot because I have a huge fascination and love for the interior and exterior of churches. All throughout high school I took as many art classes as I could and in some of them we had art history. In that class, we were shown all these beautiful, stunning churches that were located in Europe, and every single one left me in awe. I am so intrigued at the gorgeous architecture, stained glass and small sculpted details of churches. Not only is there a physical beauty, but there is a very emotional and spiritual beauty that churches have as well. I love the feeling of the serene, quiet, peaceful and surreal feeling of being inside a church. Ever since high school, it has been my dream to travel to Europe and make my way to as many churches as I can and photograph them.
This church in particular is located in my hometown, and it is just as beautiful as the churches I was shown in high school. Considering this was my first experience with shooting a church, I thought it was worth a blog post! And just as you guessed, here are a few pictures to go along with this post! Attached below is my final edit for my assignment that I handed in, and along with it is just a picture straight out of the camera with no editing done (so please ignore the really overexposed blown out windows!) with me in standing in the aisle. It will really show you what the church looked like straight out of camera, and then what it looked like after I fixed it up a bit by editing 7 different pictures of the church together to get the final photo. Enjoy! :)
